In Havana, it's better to walk in the middle of the street and not on the
sidewalk where you could be hit by a piece of shattered balconies. However,
the balcony connects people with their neighbors, with street vendors, with
the noise and smell of the streets. Ceci has spent his whole life here. He is now
old and blind, but he is not alone. He has his balcony where he does his
shopping, listens to the important news and calls Edilia, a young woman on
the other side of the street who takes care of him like a daughter. This
touching relationship also leaves room for a declaration of love for the
balconies of Havana.
